Year 4 - Diss Church Junior School

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 4 have settled in well and we are looking forward to lots of interesting topics this term.

Our History topic for the term will be the Tudors. We shall be focusing on rich and poor children and King Henry VIII.

In Science our topic is ‘Moving and Growing’ this half term.

After half term we will look at ‘Solids and Liquids’.

This half term the children will be doing colour mixing and portrait work in Art. Please could you povide an apron or old shirt to protect their clothes when doing “messy work”.

Our Design Technology will be after half term and we will be designing and making bags.

In R.E. we will be looking at Islam in the first half term and Christianity in the second half.

In PHSE we will be looking at ‘emotional wellbeing’ and ‘managing risk’.

P.E. this term will be on a Monday. We are concentrating on gymnastics. Games will be on Thursdays this term. Please ensure children’s kit comes in on Monday and goes home on Friday. They will need a complete change of clothes including socks.

Homework will normally be given out on a Friday to be handed in the following Tuesday.
