Non-uniform day - Thursday 11th February 2010 – For Haiti
The Children wanted to do an urgent fund raiser for Haiti and the idea was taken to their School Council where it was decided to hold a non-uniform day. Children who wish to take part may come to school in casual clothes and bring in a donation of up to £1 per family. If children do not wish to take part then would they please come to school in uniform as usual.
Thank you for your co-operation with this worthwhile event that the children have chosen to do themselves.
Bad Weather Arrangements
The trial period for the ‘Parent texting’ has now finished. Therefore please listen to the local radio or check on the Norfolk County Council website http://schools.norfolk.gov.uk/index.cfm and find Emergency School Closures if you are unsure as to whether we are open.
Mobile Phones
No mobile phones should be bought in to school. If your child brings a phone to school by
mistake then they should take it to the school office and collect it at the end of the day.
Outstanding money for school visits
If you have not already done so please could you send money in for the visits to:-
West Stow (due this Friday -12th);
Hilltops (instalment now overdue for 7th January & 2nd February);
Holt Hall (instalment overdue for 21st January, next one due 25th February) and
Redgrave & Lopham Fen (due last Friday, 5th).
For security reasons whenever possible please pay by cheque (made payable to Diss Church Junior School). If you need to pay cash please take it with the form to the school office .
Maths Workshop on Division
Miss Hogg is running a Maths Workshop on Division for parents/carers on Thursday 25th May. If you would be interested in attending please complete the slip below and indicate which time you would prefer.
Half –term
We break up on Friday for half term. We return on Monday 22nd February. Have a good break.

There will be no half term Disco in February. The next Disco will be on Friday 26th March.
